The quick-dry knit dries fast, so a damp tank becomes a dry one in the time it takes to change out of your shoes. Wet, it hangs loose off the skin rather than sticking to it, and a wet tank rolled into a bag comes out later without the mustiness a heavier cotton one carries. The fabric lets air through, too.
