SANTINY swim piece

Everything here is made to be worn in the water and rated for the sun. The swim skirts are the largest family: a skirt over a pair of swim shorts sewn in, with a pocket for a key or a card, at 15, 17 and 18 inches, sized XS to 3XL and cut high at the waist. The swim shorts are the same idea without the skirt, at 8 and 12 inches with a liner, and they run to 4XL. The rash guards come long-sleeved with a zip front and two pockets, short-sleeved, sleeveless and cropped, and every one of them prints UPF 50+ on the label. The sun layers are the pieces you put on afterwards: a hoodie, a zip-up jacket, a cardigan with pockets and a lightweight shirt, all UPF 50+. A UPF figure describes dry, unstretched cloth; a rash guard that is wet or pulled tight lets more sun through, and the sources on this page say so in their own words. Take a rash guard in your usual letter if you want it to sit close for swimming, and one up if it is for the walk.

Questions about SANTINY swim and sun protection

What is under a swim skirt, how a rash guard is meant to fit, and why a UPF figure drops when the cloth is wet.

Can you wear a SANTINY swim skirt in a chlorinated pool?

Yes; the swim knit is made for it, and the buyers who write about a pool wash the skirt after every swim and hang it, which is what the care label asks for. Chlorine is hard on any swim fabric over a season, and we do not promise how long a colour holds in it.

Will a SANTINY rash guard fit over your swimsuit?

In your usual letter it sits close, which is how it is meant to be worn in the water; one letter up gives it room over a swimsuit top as a cover. The zip-front rash guards open at the neck, which is the difference on a hot beach.

How do you wash SANTINY swimwear so the UPF holds?

Rinse the salt or chlorine out after each swim, wash cold and hang to dry, as the label says. A UPF figure comes from the weave and the fibre, not from a coating, so it does not wash out; what lowers it is the cloth being wet or stretched thin, and the sources on this page say so.
