01The court skirts
The pleated, scalloped and ruffled skirts with shorts and pockets built in: 13.5, 14, 15 and 16-inch lengths for a court, and a 19-inch ruffled skirt that reaches the knee.
Colourways on this page: White, Dark Purple, Deep Pink, Army Green, Dark Blue, Orange, Green Citrine, Navy, and 68 more.
Fifteen skirts answer to this name, and the hem is how you tell them apart. The pleated skirts hang in flat folds all round; the scalloped skirt is cut in soft curves at the hem; the ruffled skirts add a flounce. Under all of them is a pair of fitted shorts with the pockets in, so a ball goes on one hip and a phone on the other and neither shows. Most are cut at 14 or 16 inches, the two lengths a court is played in, with a 13.5-inch mini at one end and a 19-inch ruffled skirt at the other.
The pleated skirt with four pockets is the one to start with if you have never worn one of ours: it carries more ratings than the rest of the page put together and comes in more than thirty colours. If you want the pockets zipped, the 16-inch skirt with two zip pockets is the only one here that has them. Sizes run XS to 2XL on most cards and XXS on the pleated family; every skirt sits high at the waist, and the fabric on the pleated ones is an 87 per cent polyester knit with 13 per cent spandex through it.

02About these pieces
The court skirts
The skirt lifts and the shorts underneath do not, which is the point of a skort: the shorts sit close through a serve and the pleats fall back. Buyers who play in them write about the pockets more than about the hem, because a ball stays on the hip through a rally. If you want less lift, the 16-inch skirts have more skirt to fall back.
The 13.5-inch pleated mini is the shortest we make; the 19-inch ruffled skirt is the only one on this page that reaches the knee. Everything else sits at 14, 15 or 16 inches, and 14 is the length most of the ratings are written about.
Yes, and many buyers do: the same skirt is listed for tennis, golf and pickleball because the shorts underneath and the pockets work the same on any court. For golf specifically, the plainer skorts on the golf-skort page have a longer hem and a zip pocket on some cards.
